数匹から十数匹の猫がいつも同じ場所で群れていたら、それは「猫の集会」です。空き地や駐車場などで、特に触れ合ったりケンカしたりもせずに、何となく集まって何となく解散しているようです。その顔ぶれはほとんど固定されているので、おそらく集会ごとにも縄張りがあり、その中に属する猫たちが顔見せをし、無駄な争いが起こらないようにしていると言われています。一見、ボス猫はいないように見えますが、一応順位があって、いつも他の猫より高い所で見下ろしているのがボス猫です。

If a group from 4 to over 10 cats gathers in the same place, it is called a “cat gathering.” In a vacant lot or parking lot, without any reason or fighting they gather seemingly at random and leave randomly as well. The cats that participate are usually determined. It is thought that there may be a set territory for each gathering, and the cats gather so there are no useless fights. At first glance it doesn't seem like there is a set boss, but there does seem to be a determined hierarchy. The cat sitting on the highest perch and looking down on the other cats is the boss cat.
